I’m not going to claim to be a beauty expert – not even close – but every girl has to admit there’s certain beauty products that make them feel pretty and maybe even dolled-up a bit. I even have a few that once I run out, I feel lost and my routine tends to get out of whack.
Here’s five of my must-have beauty products that I always have on hand (I don’t use all of them every single day but close). 🙂
Dark Kiss Lotion – Bath & Body Works
A few years back, a friend of mine bought this lotion for me as a gift. It’s usually a tad bit scary to buy someone scented lotion (anything scented, actually) since you can’t always be sure what their personal preference will be but she nailed it with this one. Seriously, this has become my all-time favorite lotion from Bath & Body Works. It’s described as “a seductive blend of dark berries with a kiss of vanilla unleash your most primal passions.” The perfect blend of sweet but not too sweet.
Back in the day, you could buy it in-store but they’ve since discontinued it. It was a sad day, for sure, when I discovered this. Luckily though, they still offer it online. I usually wait for their “Buy 3, Get 3 Free” sale and then I stock up! I’m not sure how long they will offer it online – I have a feeling they’ll eventually stop carrying it – so make sure to go check it out and stock up too.
Confetti In Her Hair Nail Polish – Charming Charlie
This has got to be one of the funniest nail polishes I have ever bought! I’m not joking. And at only $6, it’s totally worth it. It’s a bunch of multi-colored hex dots. What could be more fun than that?
I bought this right before the hubby and I took a trip to Florida. We spent 10 days there and also went on a cruise so I wanted something that would last the entire trip and be fun and beachy. This nail polish didn’t disappoint. I put it on a few days before we left and not only did it last the entire trip, it stayed on for more than a week after we came back. I was hooked after that!
Stilife Paint – MAC Cosmetics
This stuff is AWESOME!! I don’t splurge very often on cosmetics but this is one item I do because it’s that awesome. It’s the perfect eyelid base coat, lasts 24 hours (if not longer), and doesn’t crease. I love the Stilife color because it goes with all my other eyeshadow colors. I usually just use my finger to apply it on but you can use a brush. Whatever suits your fancy. It comes out as a cream but goes on as a powder. It’s pretty cool stuff and really fun to use. If I don’t put this stuff on, I feel like I’m not quite put together for the day. It is my go-to eyeshadow.
Lilac Petal Facial Whip – E.L.F.
I just recently discovered this product and have quickly fallen in love. It can be used on your cheeks, lips, eyelids or anywhere you want to add a little more shimmer. I mainly use it on my cheeks but have used it on my lips on those days I want to feel more dressed up. I have noticed a little goes a long way though. Don’t be fooled by the small container. I haven’t had it for very long but I’m sure it’ll last me a long time.
Dust It Mattifying Powder – Schwarzkopf OSiS
This is one of my favorite hair products. EVER! I use to have long, thick hair but as I’ve gotten older (ugh!) my hair texture and thickness has changed significantly. I always wanted to find something that would give my hair body and would last all day. This is that product! It’s a powder that you shake on, close to your roots. Rub it in a bit and then tease with a comb (not too much teasing though). I have an A-line haircut right now and it’s perfect for adding body and giving my hair that added cuteness. On the days I don’t use it my hair looks blah and lifeless. Dust It does everything I need it to and then some. My hair tends to get oily by the end of the day but when I use this product it keeps the oils at bay and I usually don’t have to wash my hair the next day. Do you see why I like it so much?
Well, that’s a pretty good list, if I do say so myself. Let me know if you try any of the products. I’d love to hear if you love them as much as I do.
