So me being the super mom that I am, hardly, and it being Spring break for my kids, I decided to try to do a craft project with my kids and share it with our readers but sadly enough it was an EPIC fail. With that being said I decided to share the joys of my life as a mother of 6 kids. As you can imagine most of my days are full of farts, burps and laughter, usually in that order. I am like a broken record player, constantly telling them that those sounds are inappropriate and that one day when they have a girlfriend or I’m sad to say a boyfriend, that it won’t be funny. I know that one day I will look back and wish that those sounds were in our home, but for now those sounds are a constant.
I know I am not the only mom who can’t wait for nap time or bed time. To be able to kick up my feet and read a book or watch a tv show that I have had recorded for at least a month. I have a to do list that seems to never end. Then add on top of it 4 school aged kids schedules who have dance, piano, gymnastics, and various sports activities along with a 3-year old and an 18 month old, our lives never slow down. Sometimes I just have to shake my head and wonder how we make it through each day. I hope I am like all the other women in the world and feel overwhelmed and need a vacation. Continue reading
Spring cleaning is definitely not at the top of our “Favorite Things to do” list. But once it’s complete and the house is sparkling we’re so glad we sucked it up and did it. We’ve found some great products over the years that we’ve found make the job a little easier.
The Original Shammy
I love a good old paper towel but hate that once you use it, it gets thrown away. I received The Original Shammy towels as a gift one year and they really are FANTASTIC. I put them to the test and threw them in the wash and they held up great. I was able to use them again and again. I love using them to wipe down my windows or to clean up the MILLIONS of spills that my kids make daily.
No Work Daily Shower Cleaner
When we built our home we put in a big walk in shower in the master bathroom. LOVE it. Bad thing is it’s all tile. I don’t know about you but cleaning bathrooms is one of my least favorite household chores so add to the list a full tiled shower added a frown to this ladies face. Thank goodness for family. My sister-in-law recommended No Work Daily Shower Cleaner stuff and can I just say it. IS. THE. BEST. It seriously is NO WORK. You just spray your shower down after every use and there is never any hard water or soap residue. WIN. WIN. So cleaning it has become less of a problem. This is a product only available at Melaleuca. Great company I might add. Continue reading
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly I forget where I put things. It doesn’t matter what it is — keys, shoes, phone or even my wedding rings sometimes. It’s the weirdest thing and so FRUSTRATING at times! I mean, I forget things in a matter of seconds. The joys of getting old, I guess.
Forgetting where I put my wedding rings has always been a scary thing for me. If I can’t find them within a few seconds I tend to get a tad bit nervous and if it takes longer than a couple of minutes a full panic attack sets in. I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one who feels that losing your wedding ring is the worst feeling in the world.
Over the last several months I have seen some great ideas on preventing said panic attacks and it got me thinking of ways to keep my rings in the same place everyday. And where does a mom tend to spend a great deal of her time? The kitchen! Introducing my version of a kitchen sink ring holder!

This is going to be the quickest project EVER!
This is one of those posts that I went back and forth on for a while, not sure that I would love the end result or be happy with the time that I would put into it. I am happy to report that it did not disappoint. My husband frequents pawn shops and for the last year or so has been accumulating bowling pins. I think that they look cool and I like the idea of having them. I had placed 2 in our living room but decided they didn’t match the decor that well since they were a little beat up. So I wondered if I could make them a little more decorative. I did some online searching for some ideas and all that I could see was superheros, minions and snowmen (not what I had in mind).
So with that being said I decided there was a first time for everything and would figure it out for myself and free hand it. It actually was a fast process and extremely easy. If you are curious I think the pins can be picked up for about $7, not a bad price for an interesting decoration piece. All it took was some paint and a little imagination as to what I wanted to do with them.
I don’t know about you but I know around here bedtime is CRAZY! I think it’s safe to say it’s my least favorite part of the day but at the same time my favorite. Is that possible?? Wrangling up the boys and trying to get them to calm down is THE biggest pain in-the-you-know-what. I dread it!!
I think my saving grace has been letting them pick out a book to read. Sometimes this is just as difficult as getting them in their pajamas but once we’re snuggled in and reading some of their favorite books the craziness is forgotten. This is the perfect time for me to take the time to relish in their sweetness. It’s interesting to me that there are certain books they gravitate to. I’ve read some of our books night after night, weeks on end. That’s ok though. As long as they take the time to snuggle with mommy for just a few minutes, I’ll do whatever it takes.
I thought I’d share with you some of our favorite bedtime stories. Some are classics and others you might not have heard of but to me, these are priceless and something that gets me through another day.
Snowmen At Night
by Caralyn Buehner
The “Snowman Series” is an absolute favorite around here. We have a couple of the boardbooks and a pop-up book. These books never get old! What kid doesn’t love the idea of a bunch of snowmen playing, working or being their friend. Snowmen at Night was the first book we bought in the series and now it’s become sort of an obsession around here to buy all of them (especially if they’re the pop-up version). Snowmen at Play, Snowmen at Work and Snowmen All Year are the other titles in the series. Continue reading
I am so excited that Spring is just around the corner. All the snow is almost gone and that gets me so ready for warmer weather. With spring coming it means Easter is also coming. One of my favorite memories growing up was crafting. One of those crafts in particular was fabric covered eggs. We would blow out real eggs and rinse them out and then cover them with fabric and ric rac. I loved it then and I wanted to recreate it in my home for this Easter season but in a bigger size and for a center piece.
This craft is super easy and fun to do. The glue tends to get a bit messy but it just reminds me of my elementary days and playing in the glue. So that can’t be all that bad right? It took the most time to figure out the pattern that would work for the styrofoam eggs that I found at Hobby Lobby. However if you’re not in a big hurry Amazon has this awesome price and package.

I’m BAAAAAACK!! I’m hoping at least SOME of you noticed I was gone. I took a nice 3 months off and for a fabulous, snuggly, good smelling, tiny reason! We welcomed our third BOY on December 9th, 2015. I was induced 3 weeks early due to a 2 vessel cord and worries of the baby measuring small (that’s a whole other story)! Labor and delivery were my easiest yet and luckily he was born completely healthy! Without further ado introducing:

St. Patrick’s Day is just days away and now that I have a 5-year-old every holiday is a big deal around here. I’m pretty sure we’ve never done anything super exciting around St. Patty’s day but I have a feeling this year is about to change. With not a ton of ideas to go off of I decided I’d better do a little research to come up with some ideas to celebrate. However, I decided to go old school and not go straight to Pinterest. I wanted to see what the trusty old Google machine would come up with. I have to say, I wasn’t disappointed. There’s some good stuff out there.
So if you’ve been in the same boat as me and have no clue what to do on such a holiday, I’m here to help with a few websites you can visit to get some St. Patty’s day inspiration.
Have you heard of Disney Family? If you haven’t then now’s the time to check it out. This website is awesome and jam-packed with a ton of fun ideas. From crafts, to recipes to printables this is the website to go to if you have a Disney fan in your house. I tend to visit this website for their coloring pages but I love that they have various holiday ideas as well. Here’s a few ideas of what you can find on their St. Patrick’s Day page.
